I first had the pleasure of meeting Rachel and Chuchito when I photographed their Key Biscayne Elopement at Bill Braggs State Park a couple months before their church wedding (it was featured on Trendy Bride by the way in case you want to check it out). They are one of the kindest, most gracious, and happiest couples I have ever met and it was indeed a great pleasure and blessing to capture their special day twice! Their elopement was beautiful and intimate and took place on the beach with only a handful of their closest family members. For their formal church wedding, they chose First Miami Presbyterian Church in Miami, Florida. It’s a historic church built in 1945 in the classic Mediterranean revival architecture popular in south Florida, and it’s congregation dates back to the original founding of the city of Miami in 1896. The building is simply gorgeous inside and out! It’s classic and sophisticated and it was the perfect choice for this happy couple’s formal “I-do’s!”
I loved the simplicity of their love and their wedding details. They met in Cuba, fell in love, maintained a long distance relationship for years and finally got their “Happily ever after!” Rachel mentioned she read a lot of blogs about simple brides where their only accessory was the dress, so she wanted to her dress to be the “showstopper” and keep everything else simple and subtle. It was perfect! Although, her dress was beautiful, her best accessory was her smile! It was radiant and contagious and she kept it on ALL DAY!!
Rachel and her bridesmaids made the bouquets and one of her sweet girl friends surprised her with pretty pink spray roses to pair up with the succulents at her reception inside the Sevilla room at Bulla Gastropub in Coral Gables.
Chuchito was just happy to be marrying Rachel and went with the flow. He wore a blue suit, white dress shirt with a skinny light grey tie and a pretty pink boutonniere made by his lovely bride adorned his suit pocket. His attire was classic and simple.
They met in Cuba while Rachel was on a sabbatical working on her writing on the island and learning Spanish. They hit it off right away and had carried on a long distance relationship for several years before eloping and finally being able to be together, so to say they were happy on their wedding day is kind of an understatement! Here are a few highlights of their beautiful Miami and Coral Gables Wedding! It was about time I shared this one with you guys! Although I love working with all my couples, Rachel and Chuchito will forever hold a special place in my heart! It was so awesome to be a part of their special day TWICE! Their final exit shot was a simple kiss in the elevator as they exited their reception. It was unique, intimate and uncomplicated; fit them and their special day perfectly!
